I cook and bake extensively, all of our meals are eaten at home with food I prepare.I've been in need of a true slow cooker for a long time, my 2 multifunction countertop cookers just didn't function well as a true slow cooker.I wanted something simple and easy to use (old school!), durable and easy to clean, and large enough for (1) a roaster sized chicken and (2) a large batch of soup or stew.I did not want a unit that had electronic features.This Manual 7 Quart Crock Pot fit the bill!An old fashioned, analog style unit that reminds me of the Crock Pots of my youth.This crock pot is even identified as "Classic" on the box ... Love that!Put a huge smile on my face when I unboxed the unit.I knew right then I would love this Crock Pot, and I was correct.Everything about it exceeded my expectation.- Incredibly durable construction, including a heavy duty and secure fastener for the lid handle.Stoneware insert is easy to take in and out, hand washes clean in a breeze.It is oven safe to 400 degrees F if you wish to use it as a baking or roasting dish in the oven.- This 7 quart size is the large capacity that I wanted for roaster sized chickens, and large batches of soups and stews.Dimensions are as advertised:16.9"D x 11.8"W x 10.4"H.-Love this feature:Simple to operate!Just turn the dial to low (low temp slow cook), high (high temp slow cook), or warm (to keep finished foods warm).- Take care when moving the unit around, as it is heavy given its size and very durable construction.It weighs 12.55 pounds before any food is added.This Classic Crock Pot is an incredible value.It is so convenient for no muss, no fuss delicious cooking plus yummy leftovers.I highly recommend this product.

I absolutely love my Crockpot 7qt oval slow cooker!We use it nearly every week to make everything from beef roasts and pulled pork to pork chops, chicken, and chili. The set-it-and-forget-it feature is perfect for our hectic schedules, allowing us to come home to a delicious, home-cooked meal without having to spend hours in the kitchen.What I appreciate most about this slow cooker is its convenience and ease of use. The generous 7-quart capacity is ideal for our family gatherings, comfortably serving 9+ people or fitting a 7-pound roast. The stoneware insert's easy to cleanup, thanks to its coating, and the lid is dishwasher-safe.I also love the warm function, which keeps our meals at the perfect serving temperature, especially when dinner plans get delayed. Having tried other brands in the past, I can confidently say that the "Crockpot" brand stands out for its reliability and functionality.

For our needs, this 7-qt Crock Pot is just what we need. Its a good size, we do not need a timer, we decided, and it performs as expected. The price point is very good for the brand. Most of the time we use our small appliances until they wear out, so we expect we will have this for many years. We are retired, but we like to cook enough for freezer meals or company. (We had our old crock pot for 14 years and we had a lapse in judgement and ordered another brand with a timer, locking lid and 3 temp settings. And it was 3 times the cost of this one I'm reviewing. See note below.)SO, this Crock Pot that arrived a few days ago got a trial run with chicken wild rice soup cooked on low for 8 hours, and it passed with flying co!ors.Note: The more expensive Kitchenaid slow cooker we bought almost a year ago with more features -- it took us awhile/too long to realize that the low setting was way too low, resulting in ruined and undercooked dinners. We can't return it, so it'll only be used as an occasional extra appliance on the high setting for soups or chili.
