I own a very expensive helmet com. unit and found that I very rarely use it for communication with other riders as even between like brand units it is problematic, and rarely links to units of an unlike brand. My actual usage is primarily for navigation, and sometimes for phone calls as I have very little need or desire to communicate to other riders. In fact I find chatter while riding distracting and not particularly safe. So, I thought I would try this extremely inexpensive unit which cost about 25% of what a single top name brand unit cost. First, it was a snap to install. It offers a choice of boom mike for open face helmets, and a button mike for full face helmets like mine. Second, It was very easy to use with a big main off and on button, and large easy to find up and down soundbuttons, and a central voice prompt button. The on helmet main unit part offers a choice of metal snap on, or precut stick on. I chose the stick on which works just fine and stays in place even in very fast riding. I have used it in the rain and it is apparently, as advertised, water proof. The speakers are large and fill the helmet spaces designed to take them and stick in with the provided sticky spot, and offer very loud clear sound. I do not listen to music while riding so I can't say how they work for that use, but for voice nav, and telephone calls they are loud, and clear. My one serious complaint is that for some reason they have chosen to supply instructions that are printed in what must be the world's smallest type face. Fortunately the instructions are also on line. At any rate they are very simple. The unit linked to my iPhone as easily as any other Blue Tooth device. Once linked it reconnects automatically as soon as I turn it on. I ordered this very inexpensive unit to see if it actually was going to be as useful as my more expensive one. the short answer is yes. The longer answer is absolutely yes. it charges to full quickly, from dead to full in under two hours. It links quickly to my phone and connects to it by voice command every time I ask. The sound is good and loud enough to hear at speed and with ear plugs in place. I admit that that at this price, that was a surprise. As clearly stated, this is not a bike to bike coms device, or even a device to passenger device unit. But for my use as a voice nav, and 'phone to 'phone device is completely adequate, and completely useful.
I already have a helmet with built-in bluetooth and speakers, but the helmet itself has always been uncomfortable. I decided to roll the dice on a bluetooth add on for a helmet and this one is a winner.Installation is straightforward. I was able to neatly tuck the speaker wires inside the helmet padding where it is all but completely hidden. The speakers attach to the inside of the helmet with velcro and stay firmly in place. The control unit clips on the left or right side of the helmet. I like that it can be removed and placed on another helmet if necessary.I couldn't believe the sound that pumped out of these speakers. The size of the speaker gives a balanced sound with plenty of volume. The highs and mids come through clear and the bass is actually impressive. The controls are easy to access and the music can be paused at the touch of a button. I also like that the controller has colorful indicators which will no doubt have people asking about it.It's my opinion that the plug for the headphones is a bit stubborn to plug in and unfortunately the unit will not work with any other type of speaker. I could also do with one of the speaker wires being just a bit longer, but I made it work.I cannot comment on the call feature of this product because I have not and have no plans to use it for phone conversations. I put my helmet on to get away from talking to people rather than accommodate it. I'm sure the audio is reasonable.Final thoughts: This product is a bargain in my opinion. You get a decent quality helmet audio system at a sub 50.00 price point. I am sure there are other systems out there with better sound and features but you will likely pay much more. This product is worth the value price.
This synced to my phone as a QINLIFE Y10. It synced up fast and stayed connected. The large round button turns it on by a 3 second hold and it audibly lets you know it is on. Plus and Minus move you through the song list and long holds on them adjusts volume on your phone or syncing device. I have a bluetooth music player that is synced too. It will allow phone calls as well. My ears are not that great any more but the jazz and R&B song I listened to with the ear phones sounded great. This boasts long battery life and charges through a usb c port. There is an orange colored usb c port the headphones / mic plug into. I am putting this on my helmet and it should work out great. The quality of sound in your helmet will depend much on placement of speakers and the distance from your ears and that all vs how noisy your helmet is in the wind.
