29-08-2024My daughter has a retainer to wear at night. When she takes it out in the morning-the orthodontist instructed her to brush it before putting it away. That happened for about the first 2- maybe 3 weeks. I had hope that my daughter really is taking the brushing seriously and I was really impressed. Then the excuses started-‘oh I’m too tired to brush it now’ or ‘I’ll brush it later…’. So I said to my self-she’ll realize soon that putting a nasty morning breath tainted retainer in her mouth will be enough of a turn off that she’ll go back to the daily brushing. Only that realization never came.Then one day I remembered that we got these denture cleaning tablets for my son when he had his retainer. Using these things are very easy. I have two stainless steel small bowls set up on our sink. One that holds the tablets and the other for the retainer. My daughter opens a tablet puts it in the other container puts her retainer in then fills it half way with water. The tablet then fizzes for about 10 minutes or so then sits until my daughter is ready to put in her mouth at night.
