Under normal circumstances, I would never by a seventy-dollar pair of scissors unless I had money to burn.I'm normally very frugal and even thought carefully before ordering if I even wanted to pay the tax value on this product.I do have other scissors for hair cutting, and in one case a fairly nice one. Curiosity got to me however and I decided to order this. After checking it out and testing it, I realized I never would have even considered it had I not purchased this but would be totally satisfied and more if I did.Another adage comes to mind not related to a song, and that is "you sometimes get what you pay for".This pair of scissors is awesome, gleaming polished finish and shaped with near perfect ergonomics to fit the hand for control plus comfort.Loop inserts if you want even better comfort, and a tension wheel adjustment at the center.Super exacting tolerances, and incredible sharpness allow the blade to cut without pulling or veering off target.A guide for oiling, and a special oil applicator helps to keep it in tip top shape. There are instructions in the manual that details a way to test if the tension is proper as well.Comes in a nice snap tight leather keeper case.I often cut my own hair or at least trim it around the sides and back so it's not shaggy. This cut bunches in nice straight lines of hair I grasped to trim.It even did a nice job using a comb on bushy long eyebrows.I'm certain left to my own devices I would have bought some cheap drugstore special as a hair trimming scissors. However, in retrospect, it should be stated, that that would have been a mistake of ignorance. That the existence of something this quality and function is the far better choice. That said, should pay dividends for others to read Vine voices or other reviews on this site. Often, you'll realize how good it can be to have an especially fine and useful item even if the cost may seem high is worth it 100 percent. How many times have you purchased several unsatisfactory products you didn't like to use before finding a good one.For a final set of quotes of combining old adages, " Money well spent is not throwing good money after bad".In plainer terms, if you need good scissors to cut hair, as barber or layman, this is one I believe you should buy.Highly recommended.
Like others who obtained these via the vine program have mentioned, I'm not the sort to say "$75 for scissors? Yeah that seems like a bargain."But I am aware that hairdressers and barbers spend an insane amount of money on their tools, sometimes four times that much. I can't rate these as a hairdresser, but I can rate them as someone who has facial hair that needs trimming, and shaggy dogs that need trimming - and who has used all sorts of scissors to get that done. These are the best scissors I've ever had for that purpose, one mustache trim in to testing. Easy to keep on target, easy to make a nice straight line, easy cutting.I plan to take them to my next haircut appointment and ask my barber what she thinks of them. If she says OMG wonderful or OMG garbage I'll come back to tell you. If anywhere in between (or if I forget) then these will be my last words on the subject.
When COVID hit, I started cutting my own hair. That started out as a desire to scissor cut the top and buzz the sides into a fade. However, I gave up on scissor cutting the top because the shears I ended up buying during the pandemic were awful. They'd twist up in the hair, not cut it, and it was just a bad experience. These shears are the exact opposite. They're SO nice... Sharp enough to cut your own hair with excellent precision. You can absolutely tell these are high quality. These are EXCEPTIONAL.
