This watch box looks great, but it is not made from solid wood and is laminated. It's fine, but time will take it's toll on it not doubt. As for the lock, well that's a waste actually. Someone just has to pick up the box and go and then easily break into the box elsewhere. But I guess it may stop a child's curious hands. $50? Eh.

I was very pleased with the quality of this watch box, well exceeded my expectations. Will make a fine gift for a watch enthusiast. Excellent value for the money. Don’t pass on this one, you won’t be disappointed.

I have a few watch boxes and I'd say this is in the middle upper half in build quality and design.Even though it is made of MDF, it feels heavy and solid - almost made me think it was solid wood.The hardware is polished and installed so that they're parallel and flush to the box's surfaces.The hinges work well and hold the lid up.It took a bit of effort to get the key to lock/unlock; not sure what the issue was but it works fine now.There's only one key, so be careful not to lose it.The internal lining and pillows are a soft and evenly applied.Even the inside of the lid has the lining applied for extra protection.The spaces are large enough to easily accommodate my 42mm and larger watches, even the thicker ones at over 15mm with plenty of space between the watch and lid glass.The bottom has a soft velvet fabric that prevents scratches, but doesn't slide around.The veneer grain is quite realistic and the stain color is consistent and warm.Overall, it's a very nice and capable watch case that easily stores my larger sized watches.The price is reasonable for a 6 slot case.And it came very well protected in the box with a styrofoam liner all around it.But I can't give it a full 5 stars as it is made from MDF with a veneer surface rather than solid woods.
